Do you charge a deposit?
|
|
No we do not. However, we will require additional personal information after checkout. First time customers, please check your email after placing your order, as we will require additional information to finish processing and approval. We have strict policies regarding shipping addresses and identity verification procedures. We also have a limit as to how much equipment is out or in transit per customer. Please contact us for specific details.

When will my order ship ?

|
If an order is placed and approved by 3PM EST(Mon-Fri) it can ship out that same day. If you note a specific delivery date, we will then ship accordingly.

Do you have Local Drop off and Pick-up? Or are you just Online ?
|
|
Yes, we do offer local pick up/drop off. All orders must be placed online thru our website www.thelensdepot.com. Please allow at least 3 business hours prior to pick up. We will notify you when your order is ready. We do not accept cash or checks, only credit cards.
We are an internet based company and do not accept walk-ins. Local pickups are available at our Oviedo office by appointment only. We are not a retail store. In order to keep our prices competitive, we do not have additional staff to accommodate browsing, “trying out” equipment, placing or changing orders, etc. We offer local pick up and drop off as an alternative to shipping.
You may pick up your order between 9:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Monday thru Friday and between 9:30 am and 11:30 am on Saturdays. If you cannot make it during those hours then place your order to be shipped. Our office is located at 2789 Wrights Rd, Suite 1029, Oviedo, FL 32765.
The person on the order is the only person who can pick up the equipment. We will not allow pick up of orders by friends, family members, personal assistants, etc. There will be no exceptions, so please do not ask.
Pick Up/Drop Off Policy: Example: If you pick up your order at 10 am on a Wednesday for a one week rental, then it is due back by 10 am the following Wednesday.
We must insist that you honor our drop-off and pick-up policy so that we can allocate inventory appropriately for other customers. Although we will give you one half hour grace period, please do not ask to make exceptions. There will be late fees (as stated in our Rental Agreement) associated with any late returns.

Can I get Saturday Delivery ?
|
|
Yes Fed Ex does offer Saturday delivery. I will be an additional charge. Normally it is between 12.00 and 20.00 depending on the package size, weight and destination. The difference will be billed separately.

I'm Local , When can I pick up the rental items?
|
|
Once you place your order online and we contact you to let you know your order is ready, you can pick up your order at our Oviedo office. The address is 2789 Wrights Rd, Suite 1029, Oviedo, FL 32765. Hours are Monday thru Friday from 9:30 am to 4:30 pm and Saturdays from 9:30 am to 11:30 am.

What comes with the equipment?
|
|
Each lens comes with front and rear caps and all of them have hoods. Cameras will come with 1 battery, a charger, front cap and strap. Flashes will not include batteries. Camera grips do not include batteries.

What if the Equipment is damaged in transit?
|
|
If the box is not damaged then the Equipment is typically not damaged. Once in a while you might have an electronic problem from the shipping. E-mail us in the event that a piece of equipment malfunctions within the first 3 hours of delivery and we will either exchange or refund the rental price plus shipping. Exchanges are subject to the limits of our stock. Both exchanges and refunds are contingent on verification of problem.

What if I damage the Equipment?
|
|
E-mail us Immediately. Our lease agreement states that if the equipment is damaged you are responsible for 100% of the repairs and or the replacement if not repairable. If you purchase the Damage Waiver then you are only responsible for 15% of the retail value of the equipment. We will provide you with a repair receipt from the service center. Please take a look at our lease agreement for a more detailed explanation.

Do you offer a damage waiver?
|
|
We offer an optional damage waiver that limits your liability for unintentional damage to 15 % of the repair and or replacement cost while the equipment is in your possession. See lease agreement for further details.

What is considered damage?
|
|
Minor scratches to a lens barrel, hood, flashes and cameras are considered the results of ordinary wear and tear and will not result in damage assessments. Scratches to the glass, screens, couplings, buttons, mirror or any other part that affects the equipments performance will be considered damage.

When does my rental period begin and end?
|
|
The rental period starts the day after Fed Ex delivers your package. In the event you are not available to receive the package, your rental will begin the day after the 1st attempt was made. Your rental period ends 1 week, 2 weeks etc…after the delivery date. On the last day of the rental you must ship the equipment back to us. If the last day falls on a Holiday or Sunday then the next day is the end date.
For local customers the rental period starts the day you pick up the equipment.

How long does shipping take?
|
|
Shipping time is based on what method is chosen. Please be aware that FedEx strives for 100% commitment time but delays do occur. Give yourself and extra day or so before you actually need the item.

How much is shipping?
|
|
Shipping to you and back to us is calculated at checkout based on delivery address and method of shipment.
|

How do I return the equipment?
|
|
We will have a prepaid return-shipping label in the box with the items. Repack the lens, camera or accessories with everything we sent you in the box and padding it came in. Seal it, put the return label on it, and take it to your local Fed Ex/Fed Ex Kinkos.
It is the lessee's responsibility to get a receipt from Fed Ex when dropping off a package for shipment back to us.

Can I extend my rental?
|
|
Yes you can, just contact us via e-mail or phone prior to the end of your rental period. We will let you know if it is available to extend.

Do you charge late fees?
|
|
Yes, we do. Late fees for items such as lenses, flashes, accessories, all items other then cameras and lighting (regardless of rental cost) will be billed at $20.00 per day. Camera bodies and lighting equipment will be billed at ¼ of the weekly rental rate per day.

Do you have a cancellation policy?
|
|
Cancellations are made by contacting us via phone or e-mail. Cancellations made within 3 days of scheduled shipment or pickup will incur half of total cost of rental charges associated with said order.
